Listen to the Music of the Butterflies

from 70.00

I promised my husband that I would not place another Koi pond on our property. So, I planted a huge perennial garden to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Between the two...they sing. Their colors, their gracefulness and wonder- all in the flapping of their little wings. If you sit on our porch with a glass of Pinot Noir, I promise you will not leave. The hummingbird and the butterfly are an illustration of life, movement and building. They are survivors. This was an impression I captured going into dusk. Again, this is a drawing with the pen and inks applied by the brush. Thank you for all who have voted this number one on the 123 studio greetings site, of which I am a developer.

Original piece: India ink with pen and acrylic ink applied by brush on 500lb cold-pressed paper.

Purchased print is a limited-edition, professional glicée print, rendered on high-quality archival matte paper.  The glicée print realistically displays the textures associated with pen and ink art.  The standard print includes a sizable white border surrounding the artwork (as displayed in the image above).  Matted pieces are prepared with one inch of matting on the top, left, and right, with two inches of matting at the bottom.  Approximately 1/8” of the white border remains along the matte’s edge on the top, left and right.  The title of the artwork and Sallie’s signature are visible along the bottom of the print.
